June 1st 2007
Dr. Fernando Siles will be releasing his debut CD, "Peruvian Soul" sometime in late June 2007 on the indie Through It All Music label in the Dallas / Ft. Worth metro area. Originally recorded from 2004 - 2006, this album is the culmination of Dr. Siles and Kyle Shaffer's shared vision to take some of the doctor's meditation music melodies that he had been using with his own patients for years, rewrite them and make the songs more contemporary sounding. Dr. Siles and his label are very excited about this and optimistic about the further exposure to his music that a CD will bring.
Dr. Siles also is planning two separate CD release parties for his album. One will be sometime in early July 2007, and the other later in the same summer. The first CD release party will be at his private office and open by invitation only. Dr. Siles wants to use this party to personally thank all of his staff, friends and family for their support, help and input over the last several years of this project.
The second release party is tentatively scheduled for later in the summer to be at a Peruvian restaurant, interestingly enough called " Machu Picchu " , which is almost identical to the name of the first song on his new to be released CD "Peruvian Soul" called " Machu Picchu Hidden City ." There are not many "Peruvian" restaurants in the Dallas area so when Dr. Siles had been looking for a place to have his party and ran across that name, it was a natural choice. In addition, the staff there apparently is also excited about the opportunity to feature an up-and-coming native Peruvian musician in their establishment.
Currently Dr. Siles is working in the studio on an original song with producer Kyle Shaffer for a young Columbian / American Ice Skater, Maria Fernanda Lopera. Always on the lookout for unique and original music, Maria and her mother had heard some of the Doctor's flute music and became intrigued by the idea of a score to fit the flavor, length and style of the skater. After discussing it further with Siles, he decided to go into the studio and record a minute and a half long piece to fit the medium length routine. Maria Fernanda will be using this music in an upcoming competition in the Dallas area sometime this summer.
